Salvia Divinorum Europe is published by the team behind Avalon Magic Plants, a smartshop in the Netherlands that sells salvia leaves and extracts. The product links on this site go to that shop. When you buy through one of them, we earn from the sale.
We put that first because it matters for how you read the rest. The site exists for one reason: salvia is legal to buy in the Netherlands and prohibited in many of the countries our customers come from, and most online lists of "where salvia is legal" are years out of date or copied from each other without sources. We wanted one place where every country has a legal basis, a date and a link to the law or the government service that confirms it.
How the country information is checked
- Every country entry is based on a primary source: the law or regulation itself in the official legal database of that country, or a government or public health service. The source is linked in the entry.
- Each entry shows the date a rule took effect, as precisely as the source allows. Where we could only confirm the year, we give the year.
- The whole overview was checked on 11 October 2026. That date is on every page.
- Where we could not find a primary source, the country is marked "not verified" instead of being filled in from secondhand lists.
- This is general information, not legal advice. Laws change, sometimes at short notice.
How the rest is written
Facts about effects, strengths and safety come from peer-reviewed studies and from public health services such as the Trimbos Institute in the Netherlands, RIVM, FRANK in the United Kingdom and the Alcohol and Drug Foundation in Australia. Product strengths are the shop's own figures and are labelled as such. We publish no testimonials and no invented experiences, and we make no medical or health claims of any kind.
The shop
Avalon Magic Plants has sold ethnobotanical products from the Netherlands since 2009. It sells only to adults. Selling salvia is legal in the Netherlands; owning, ordering or importing it is not legal everywhere. That is why the products on this site are presented for use during a stay in the Netherlands.
